As you leave the home, you are told to not cause trouble in the village as samurai aren’t really needed there.
You choose a line to speak, then collapse on the ground in front of them, only to wake up in the bamboo home of a farmer. You start as a nameless samurai, wandering the fields of a battle torn area when you approach two farmhands. Thats right, for once, your actions in the game effect the ending you get, so not bowing to someone and running away may prove to change your ending! But we all have to start somewhere to reach that end. Within our tale in Way of the Samurai 3, we hit something not commonly seen in action-adventure games, or action-rpgs for that matter: Multiple endings.

But does a 1080p up scaling and re-port to a more accessible platform resharpen the katanas of old, or does this port die with honor like the samurai? Let us draw our swords and cross paths! Originally released on the Playstation 3 in Japan, then ported to the Xbox 360 later down the road, and now released on PC earlier this year, it has seen some relative success. It is always refreshing to see older games make a reappearance in the gaming market, especially ones that didn’t do as well upon initial release like Way of the Samurai 3.
